Oh NO...Please Don't Blow

Ever feel like you are having that kind of a week? You know, the kind that you never want to have again for quite awhile. It feels like an endurance test. You find yourself running up and down stairs  and can't remember walking them in years. You find yourself eating fast food on a regular basis. You ate nothing but organic prior to this week. You discover that sugar free stuff makes you burp and you left your beano in your other coat pocket. I guess you have the picture in your mind by now. You may even be laughing because you can relate. You learn one thing at least this week from hell. That is ....you thought you were tough. NOT. You thought you could keep up a good profile through it all. NOT. You find yourself wishing you could lay down, sit down and curl up and ask everyone to leave you alone.  When you are having a week like that. Take it easy on yourself. Cut out all the unnecessary tasks, Yes all of them that you can cut out. You have to eat sleep and dress, but otherwise take it easy. Ask someone else to fill in for you, take over for you, call in all those favors you never wanted to ask for. NOW IS THE TIME. You need to hold onto your hat or your head will blow!! Be healthy as you can this week. If you have a week like this very often you may need assistance to find out why and how to survive and still be healthy. Email me at sandrabullard11@gmail.com. I will help you.

Have a great week:)

Keep your eye on the Sapsucker

Don't you hate it when you feel taken advantage of? You know darn well you did it again. You gave before you got. You figure that you should be considered the local sap. The doormat. The dingledorf. The dumb bunny.

Funny, years ago, I actually thought others were waiting to take advantage of me. I hung onto everything like it really was going to be mine forever and help the person who took it away. Or tried to even borrow it. And if you didn't return something, it went down in the book of records I kept in my head. It never forgot anything. Funny how we learn and grow isn't it??

The first thing I leaned was, we didn't come into this world with anything but our birthday suit and we are going out the same way. So keep it pressed and wrinkle free:) So does anything really "belong" to you?? I think we are just the temorary keeper of it. Not that we should take that responsibility lightly. I think because of that, we really should do something to help the next generation. The depression kids didn't leave much behind for us but they did teach us how to save for a rainy day. I remember hearing...Oh, you're not going to throw that out are you?

The second thing I learned is that being stingy really keeps you poor. You have what you have and everyone around you has what they have. No one is giving anything away. Don't expect a gift...it's not coming. Not now, not ever. Finders keepers, loosers weepers. Tie it down and lock it up or you know who will have it.

The third thing I learned was the most important. If you learn to give without expecting anything in return, you will get more back than you could ever imagine. The key is to really give without wanting anything back. Do it because you want to. Not need to, or have to, to get something. Because you would still, in the back of your mind, be expecting something in return. It takes practice.

Remember ,you may come across a real sapsucker from time to time, but as Jim Rohn used to say "There's only a few of them in the whole world" and "I can handle that". Don't believe one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch.

Live Your Dreams

Kick your shoes off, run through the sand, feel the breeze blow on your face while the sun warms you skin ever so gently. Sometimes, it just feels good to think about all the things we would rather be doing than what we really are doing. Have you ever just sat and daydreamed? You may say, If I get caught daydreaming at work, I'll get fired. I hear you loud and clear!! Our world has no place for dreamers. We are discouraged to take the time or lavish ourselves in that wonderful fantasy place we call dreamland.

Here is how I have resolved to spend some extra time this year and I want to see if the idea seems good to you as well. Three times a day...pick 15 minutes...break time, lunch time, whenever. Then go somewhere that will allow you to completely relax and get caught up in your good thoughts, your good dreams for the future, away from the problems of the day, week or month. Erase them for the moment and just be "in the moment"...enjoying where you have traveled off to. Don't spend the 15 minutes deciding what to think about. Do that at the beginning of the day or before you take your break. If you think you may go to sleep or run over 15 minutes, learn to set a timer, have a friend call you on the cell and lay it on your chest.

Here are some really great ideas for dreaming if you don't have any, use mine until you do:)
  • Test driving a new car, motorcycle, speed boat...
  • riding a wave on a surf board or riding a skateboard
  • sitting under a tree and watching the sun go down
  • splashing your feet off the dock
  • basking in the sun on the sand
  • sitting in the sauna then diving into the pool
  • climbing the highest peak and looking over the land
  • hang gliding with the eagles
  • rollerskating down the street in the early morning watching the sun come up
  • perched on the porch reading the paper with coffee in hand
  • listening to your favorite music with your eyes closed and a headset on
Let me know what you dream about. (Keep in mind I'm not interested in your fantasies, they are yours to keep private) Live your dreams today. This will refresh your soul in just 15 minutes. You will be happier and healthier. Your thoughts will keep you well. sandrabullard11@gmail.com

Just for the Health of it!

As you may know, I am a licensed nurse with a specialty in the natural, holistic (looking at a whole person) way of living and taking care of your health. I am a Vitamark International Wellness Partner which is a Network Marketing business that I do part time from home.

So our Rochester Network Marketing Group was discussing marketing and advertising. Who our target market is, what tools we use to advertise and market ourselves and our products or services. One of the  team members was wearing a very nice shirt with their logo on it. As I read that I said to myself....you are your own billboard. What are you saying to your customers and clients? It hit me hard because I am rolling up on 2011 and realize I have so much to accomplish to be a good advertisement for what I do and who I am. I need to get my billboard working for me!! I am my best advertisement !! Right??

So just for the health of it .... As with everything, it's always easier if someone does it with you. So, If you are reading this and want to get your billboard into shape ( and round is not a good shape ) please email me so we can support each other. sandrabullard11@gmail.com.

Anyone that is a health coach, a life coach, a meditation group leader, a friend, come on and help a girl out!! Show me what you can do !!

Pave the way--Be Resilient

When I look at my grandparents and parents generation I see people who lived through the depression. They survived plagues, forged homes out of nothing, worked the land for food, trudged long distances through bad weather for what their family needed. They had/have backbone and were/are tough. When I look at myself I see only some of that spirit. Some of me has been softened by the luxuries we have been given as well as the totally different lifestyles we now live due to convenience.

I look myself in the mirror at times and wonder how can I learn to be more resilient? How can I toughen up my immune system? How can I beat the risk of cancer? How do I escape the stressors of this new age? What are the tricks to keeping a happy attitude? Are their like minded people on the planet?

So this new year (lurking around the corner) will be my personal year of challenge. I am going to see just how tough I can get with myself. Just how resilient I can become. What about you? You want to join me on the journey? Email me and let me know.... sandrabullard11@gmail.com and together we can do it!

Monday

Our bodies talk but are we listening?

What is it that makes us healthy? Is it what happens to our bodies or how we think about what happens to us that makes us healthy? I know my body says things to me like....that knee hurts today. I am tired . Is that my body talking to me or my minds interpretation?? Well as with everything, I started to do some researching. This is what I came up with. You see what you think.

All of our senses take in information. We don't ask it to, it just does. Our brain is like a sorting station. The info comes in and goes through various relays to get where it is supposed to go. It's not faultless. As we age the paths may get crossed or disconnect and we may not get messages where they belong. (memory loss) However, if we are healthy, these travel to the part of the brain that interprets the signals.

Once it's interpreted into basics like pain, the scent of cookies baking, the sound of a dog barking or the taste of your favorite pasta dish then it is able to think further about it. Like this...pain, in my neck on the left side, probably from sleeping with my head on the arm of the couch yesterday. Cookies, they sure smell good, can't wait to try one. Dog barking, I wonder what they are barking at this early in the morning? Favorite Pasta dish, oh...that's good. I wish I had time to savor it a little more but I have to eat and run. Of course this is simplified. But, I am sure you go on sometimes and think about things for much longer. We do this without thinking after awhile. Some days we find ourselves thinking more than doing.

So if it's our thinking that tells us about our surroundings it stands to reason that if we take an unpleasant thought, like pain or illness and change the way we think about it...it can change our understanding of it.

Here is a challenge that I will do with you. Let's think of illness and pain as a signal from our brain. Just a signal to get our attention. Do we need to do something about it? Let's just see how this goes. Let's take "Knee pain", it's telling us the knee hurts. OK, so do we need to rub it? Do we need to put ice or heat on it? Do we need to loose some weight to get less pressure on  that joint? Do we need to slow down the exercise routine today? Do we need to get new shoes, put them on or get new arch supports? Make a chiropractor appointment? Think it through and take your own advice. If you don't have advice for yourself that you trust? You can email me at sandrabullard11@gmail.com. Together we can discover your way to natural health.

I'll be waiting to hear from you. It's easy and important that you also learn the signs that signal a doctors appointment for a more serious signal or symptom. I'll tell you what those are when we talk.

To your best health,
Sandra Bullard

Ho Ho Ho...Happy Healthy Days!!

It's the time of year we can get drawn to parties and events that offer food and drink that we don't ordinarily have. I found last year, that if you try a little of what you want, you are still satisfying the urge for it and you feel better for not indulging so much that you have to let your belt out on the way home.

I used to think choosing healthy is such a "NO FUN" way to live thru the holidays. I found out that it is the only way we can "LIVE" beyond them. For some, the holidays can mean that straw that broke the camels back. The heart attack, the drinking and driving accident, the stroke. You may think you are too young, too healthy, too anything. You are kidding yourself. Even healthy people have health illness. It's a part of living.

I urge you to try to get a health analysis this month, I can help with that. It's free from me. You and I can get a jump start on 2011. It can be your best year. If you are not aware of it...someone is watching how you make your choices and you do affect the others around you. If you get healthy, they will too!!
